Plants for Landscaping – three important considerations for a great project
When you start selecting plants for landscaping? There are few main factors that must be considered not only achieve a beautiful planting design, but also one that has plant material that will flower in time.
Here are some important things to consider:
Sun and shade
I list this first because a plant must be located in an area receiving the necessary amount of sun or shade. If not, at least not going to work well and at worst, it will not survive. We've all seen the plants that seem dry and even burned and those that are thin and weak looking.
When a plant is required says it needs the sun, usually that means four hours or more. If a plant is a shade lover then you must have no more than four hours of shade. The number of hours of sun or shade need not be continuous but can be filtered through day.
Plant Sizes
Understand and know how tall and wide as a landscape plant will get. This beautiful plant you are considering as a purchase it is likely that their mature size.
Take this seriously. Whether you like it or not, the plant will grow! If you are selecting over shrubs for foundation front of your house, consider the height of the window. How many times have you seen overgrown landscapes, specially composed by huge plants against the windows? This be avoided. On the other hand, choosing a plant that is the correct size for an adult, you will achieve a maintenance free landscape. No need Maintenance …. the magic words!
Trees planted near the house are fine. In fact, give you a sense of scale and can frame the house. Once again, choose carefully. If you want to plant an ornamental tree near a corner house, plant half the mature width of the house. For example, a tree that will be twenty meters are three meters wide (at least) away from the house or building.
Plant Characteristics
Think about what the landscape will and in the winter and evergreen shrubs, if desirable. These are often, especially in the front of the house. Green in the dark days of winter is warm.
At the same time, it is exciting to have flowers in the spring and summer, along with berries and foliage color in autumn and winter. An attractive design planting usually has a mixture of both deciduous and evergreen plants.
Speaking of color, a landscape designed for all season colors provide color and interest throughout the year. To do this, you know when shrubs, perennials and trees bloom. If there are some in bloom at the same time, make sure that colors complement each other and there is a variety, even if it is shades of one color.
There is more that goes into planting design, but before mentioned are some of the first steps, and simpler. Thinking about these concepts, we will put you well ahead of the game and allow you to have a nice design.
One more thing … do not forget to plant in groups to design flows and their characteristics are outstanding plant.
