Thinking of moving to Albuquerque, NM. Good or bad?

Someone has the bottom of Albuquerque, NM. I'm giving serious thoughts about relocation there. I live in west Texas, a dry, arid plains, much of anything about landscape, have been here for 30 years from time to time. I love The culture of New Mexico, Sandia and majestic views of Southwest architecture mixed with the style of New Mexico. I have no problem with where I am located now, just wants a change of pace, maybe a bit more diversity than I have where I am today. I am in the center of the oil field and looking for change. Maybe a little of knowledge about the lifestyle of Albuquerque, the positives and negatives of living there. Any advice would be appreciated, please do not make comments about race or ethnicity, which is not a factor. Crime, health services, community service, sports, entertainment would be a factor though. Thanks for the input.

It's a pleasant enough place, although a little big for my taste. UNM is there so there are a lot of concerts and sporting events. The minor Isotope age of the league are in Albuquerque, if you like baseball. Santa Fe is just 50 miles north of Taos and is 4 hours by car. You can head the Rocky Mountains or south to White Sands or lots of different outdoor activities. They have a bit of a problem of gangs in the area known as the South Valley as it would avoid that area. And as any metropolitan area, they have a problem of rush hour traffic but they are working on overcoming traffic, with more mass. And each October will be held the balloon festi, something to do.
